BURNABY, B.C. -- PMC-Sierra (NASDAQ: PMCS) today announced the immediate availability of the RM7000B' 64-bit MIPS-based processor with clock speeds up to 600 MHz. The RM7000B is PMC-Sierra's first device to use TSMC's leading 0.13 micron, copper-interconnect technology process. PMC-Sierra's high performance, low power RM7000B device is ideal for meeting cost and performance upgrade demands in routers, switches, DSLAMs, and multi-service access in networked printer platforms. "The RM7000 and RM5200 products have become world leaders in 64-bit RISC shipments. These products have captured a majority of the world's supply of routers on the control plane and in networked printers.
