11:45 AM -- Harpers shares a dozen or so moves from “ 'The Road to Peace,' a board game designed by the United Nations for ten- to twelve-year-old children in Afghanistan. Since July 2005 they have printed and distributed around 10,000 copies in Dari and Pashto." Here's a couple:

re: Play the Afghan Game One out of every six children in Afghanistan dies before their fifth birthday, chronic malnourishment runs rampant and girls are forced into arranged marriages. A board game ought to solve all those problems. Nice work, UN.
