HERZLIYA, Israel -- Telmap (www.telmap.com), a world-leading provider of mobile Mapping and Navigation solutions, and Pelephone, a leading cellular operator in Israel, today announced the "Pelephone Navigator" mobile navigation service. The service is being launched for a selected list of AGPS handsets (phones that have an embedded AGPS) and it will soon be extended to additional AGPS phones.

The new service leverages the capabilities of Pelephone's CDMA/EV-DO network and the growing availability of AGPS phones, which enables access to feature-rich GPS-based mobile navigation from a cellular phone with no need to add an external GPS device. The service will be launched on BREW and Windows Mobile platforms, with Motorola E815, MiniPoz and SK7400 phones as the first devices being offered. An additional four AGPS devices will follow by the end of June.

Pelephone Navigator is based on the "Telmap Navigator" mobile mapping and navigation solution, which supports Java, BREW, BlackBerry, Symbian and Windows Mobile phones. As a cross platform solution, Telmap Navigator enables Pelephone to extend its mobile navigation offering to the widest possible array of phones and users. The Pelephone handsets with the integrated Pelephone Navigator service include AGPS phones that run on the BREW platform as well as phones that work on Windows Mobile.

"We are very excited about the opportunities mobile navigation opens for our customers and for Pelephone," said Shraga Mor, Content and Products Division Manager at Pelephone. "We and Telmap share the same vision for mobile navigation as a mass market application, and our commitment to making it happen is a key reason we chose exclusively AGPS devices for our 3G network."

Oren Nissim, CEO of Telmap, added: "This is our third launch in Israel (following launches with iDEN and GSM/UMTS operators), which means we hold the majority of the Israeli mobile navigation market. Telmap already has more than 70,000 users in Israel and, with the advent of the new Telmap-based Pelephone Navigator service, we expect to double our local user base by year-end."
