'AI Inside' Platform Enables Business Agility and Digital Transformation

SHENZHEN, China – At the "Service and Software Enable Business Success" session of Huawei’s Better World Summit 2020, participants from carrier customers, partners and industry analysts convened virtually to share how AI makes networks and operations smarter and more efficient in future-oriented operations, helping carriers achieve digital transformation and business success.

Bill Tang, President of Huawei's Global Technical Service, said: "The outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 poses great challenges to the operations of global carriers and is accelerating their digital transformation. With our AI-powered platform and professional services, we can help carriers achieve operational transformation, boosting their operational efficiency through intelligence. Huawei is able to support carriers throughout their entire digital transformation journey."

The AI-inside digital platform allows carriers to quickly respond to markets, customers, and network changes, making telecom operations simpler and smarter. For example, Huawei's AI Contact Center (AICC) solution provides a video-based, intelligent and open platform. Together with carriers, the AICC solution offers intelligent, scenario-based customer services for vertical industries such as government, healthcare, insurance, Internet, and banking.

The AI-powered business intelligence platform can quickly respond to changes in user behavior and hotspot traffic models, ensuring normal business operations and service quality in case of emergencies. Huawei brings AI into network O&M and optimization, which can detect potential network faults in advance, thereby reducing the number of faults and service interruptions, ensuring high network availability, and significantly improving user experience and satisfaction. The integrated service delivery platform accelerates automatic delivery processes and operations, boosting network construction efficiency.

Tang emphasized that Huawei will continue to invest in AI and digital platforms to ensure its services and general digital engine (GDE) platform will always be ready to assist carriers with digital transformation. We will help carrier customers provide new digital services more easily, optimize network and service performance more efficiently, and deploy and operate networks more agilely. Our aim is to empower carriers' business success.

At the "Service and Software Enable Business Success" session, participants from China Unicom's government and enterprise user group shared their explorations and practices in 5G application industry research and 5G enablement enterprise digital transformation. Participants from China Mobile Hebei province shared how they collaborated with Huawei to achieve 4G and 5G collaborative planning and network optimization through digital transformation. A survey from analyst group Omdia on global mobile carriers’ digital transformation showed that building a unified digital platform and improving network operational efficiency are crucial to digital transformation.

Over the past 30 years, Huawei has provided professional services for 1500 networks at more than 300 carriers worldwide. Currently, Huawei maintains more than 18 million network elements (NEs). Every year, Huawei handles more than 200 major events, provides more than 600,000 technical support engagements, and resolves over 1 million trouble tickets. We are committed to safeguarding communications services for over 3 billion people worldwide. The reason for this achievement lies in Huawei's strong service and software capabilities. Wang Yifan, President of Huawei Service & Software Marketing & Solution Sales Dept, said: "Leveraging Huawei's reliable and professional service system and open and agile digital platforms, we are able to boost our own operations efficiency, and better serve customers to promote industry development."
