Pace commences shipments of standard definition DVR to US cable operator Comcast

SHIPLEY, U.K. -- Pace Micro Technology announced today that it has received approval from Comcast, the leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services in the United States, to commence shipments of its standard- definition digital cable set-top box with digital video recording capabilities.

Pace began shipping its standard definition DVR set-top box, known as the Vegas TDC575 in the US market, to selected Comcast cable systems this month. The box supports electronic programme guides and video-on-demand applications.

Neil Gaydon, Pace's chief executive officer commented: "Pace has led the global market for DVR technology since our first product was launched into the UK in 2001. We are delighted that we have now started shipping Pace DVRs into the US market to an industry leader like Comcast."
