October 31, 2006
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- World Wide Packets, a leading provider of Carrier Ethernet solutions, today announced the release of Ethernet Services Manager (ESM) 4.5, a carrier grade element management system that is designed to accelerate the management and operation of large scale Ethernet service networks. The ESM 4.5 scales to support millions of service instances across tens of thousands of network elements all while seamlessly integrating with northbound network management system (NMS) and Operations Support System (OSS) applications.
Integrated with all LightningEdge® products, the ESM 4.5 manages and hides all of the complexities and details of an Ethernet Service network, by orchestrating and directing the service management process while ESM handles all of the complexities of deploying, delivering and sustaining "True Carrier Ethernet" services. Going beyond element centric fault, configuration, accounting, performance and security (FCAPS) management, the service centric capabilities of ESM deliver all the operational power of carrier NMS/OSS systems down to the virtual circuits and service ports used for delivering services.
