MORRISTOWN, N.J. -- The TeleManagement Forum and the Broadband Services Forum (BSF) announced today the establishment of a formal partnership, whereby members of each organization will have influence over related technical work in the area of telecom-web convergence issues. This partnership was initiated by the active Telecom Media Convergence team within the TM Forum, and will have an immediate impact on the release of that team’s new document entitled “Telecom Media Convergence Industry Challenges and Impact on the Value Chain”. The relationship will also contribute to more multimedia focused panels at TM Forum events, and future development of process standards for content management and convergent media-telecom operations.

"As the TM Forum broadens its purpose and agenda to include operations and management issues for newer types of service providers faced with challenges of delivering content and services in today’s converging communications industry, broadband plays a key role," said Keith Willetts, Chairman of the TeleManagement Forum. "The Broadband Services Forum is the premier organization to partner with, and we are delighted with their enthusiasm and the potential of this new agreement."

As part of its strategic agenda for 2007, the TeleManagement Forum plans to focus on end-to-end management of a service from content to end devices. The partnership with BSF represents the Forum’s interest in partnering with other industry organizations with expertise in different areas of this value chain.
