SAO PAULO -- Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced that TIM Brasil, the second largest mobile service provider in Brazil, has gone into live production with the first phase of its "B/OSS" transformation project. The announcement was made at Futurecom, taking place today in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Last February Amdocs announced its selection as the primary provider of a solution bridging business support systems (BSS) and operational support systems (OSS) to unify customer ordering, provisioning processes and activation across multiple channels and lines of business.
This deployment marks the first step in TIM’s consolidation of two separate networks following its acquisition of Intelig in 2009. Phase one of this OSS transformation uses Amdocs Resource Manager and Amdocs Resource Planner to establish a single inventory and planning system for TIM’s wireless backhaul network, providing an end-to-end view of all network resources (physical, logical and services) and their real-time utilization levels. Having this highly accurate view of all network resources will reduce TIM’s costs for interconnections and leased lines, as well as optimize its network investment by ensuring it adds new resources only as required.
