TCS Signs BSNL Deal

Tata Consultancy Services awarded a $140M contract to upgrade BSNL's billing systems

MUMBAI, India -- Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), (BSE: TCS.BO, NSE: TCS.NS), a leading IT services, business solutions and outsourcing organization, announced it had won a mission-critical engagement with BSNL, the world’s 7th largest telecommunications company and India’s largest telecom player. The engagement with BSNL has an approximate deal value of Rs 574 Crore ($ 140 million) over a multi-year period.

During this transformational engagement, TCS will provide BSNL with a comprehensive range of telecom services to enable complete transformation of existing systems and processes to next generation convergent billing system.

TCS will lead manage the overall engagement along with a large team of hardware, software and application partners. The multi-year engagement involves setting up of complex data networks across the vast BSNL footprint in North and West of India and includes deployment of Operational Support Systems (OSS) and Business Support Systems (BSS) components such as customer relationship management, billing, mediation, directory enquiry among others. The overall engagement involves managing the development, deployment and operations of services.
