Tata Communications has deployed Monolith Software's performance monitoring solution to help manage its Ethernet and MPLS network
May 22, 2012
DUBLIN -- Monolith Software today announced that Tata Communications, one of the world’s largest and most advanced network providers, has selected Monolith Software for performance monitoring as part of the company’s ongoing integrated fault management for next-generation Ethernet and MPLS network services. The Monolith deployment enhances monitoring and management of thousands of network devices across the globe, and ensures the delivery of high-performance services for clients.
Tata Communications’ migration to the next-generation Cisco Aggregation Services Router 9000 (ASR9000) platform demonstrates the company’s commitment to delivering the most flexible and advanced network services available on the market today. Tata Communications selected Monolith as the software solution best suited to deliver faster, more reliable management and monitoring of these new services worldwide.
Tata Communications’ Monolith deployment assures new, higher standards in speed, scale, and customer visibility:
Every five minutes, over 500,000 network fault and performance metrics are collected from over 8,000 devices. This enables Tata Communications and its customers to proactively monitor the network and gives both parties access to near-real time reporting. Tata Communications can also identify faults faster, leading to quicker and proactive prevention and recovery time.
From this data, customized portals are created that deliver expanded service insights to Tata Communications customers.
“As a market leader, Tata Communications is constantly focused on increasing its leadership position,” said John Locke, CIO, Tata Communications. “As our service offerings continue to evolve, we must deploy more sophisticated tools to manage a more expansive, high-performance infrastructure. This in turn enables Tata Communications to deliver higher quality services and performance to our customers. Monolith’s unified platform allows us to do just that.”
“The Tata Communications deployment is an excellent example of the power of a unified approach,” said Jeff Parker, president, Monolith Software. “Seamless scalability, elegantly customized for individual customer views – that’s what customers expect from leading service providers.”
