LONDON -- Sigma Systems has joined the OSS through Java initiative (OSS/J), a Technical Program of the TeleManagement Forum, to support the initiative’s new Order Management API standard. As a member of the expert group for Java Specification Request (JSR) 264, Sigma Systems, a premier provider and leader in the design, development, and deployment of OSS service management solutions, is developing the Order Management API Reference Implementation in all three integration profiles (Java JVT, XML/JMS and Web Services). The Order Management RI is targeted for completion in May 2007.

An active member of the TeleManagement Forum , Sigma Systems work on the development and maintenance of the OSS/J Order Management API is complementary to the company’s existing TM Forum activities.

“We have seen an increased interest from our many customers for the support of industry standards, especially for order submission and management,” says Preston Gilmer, VP Product Marketing. “In assessing available standards, we recognise that OSS/J and the TM Forum offer the best industry standards for this requirement, and we look forward to continuing to contribute to the success of these standards. We believe these standards will become increasingly important as service providers seek to introduce converged services, such as those facilitated by Sigma System’s All Play Solutions, which extend beyond quad-play voice, video, data and mobile services to effectively manage complex OSS service fulfilment processes for subscription, on-demand and event-driven services."
