WALTHAM, Mass. -- NetCracker Technology announced today that Swisscom Fixnet Wholesale has selected NetCracker’s OSS platform and applications suite to deploy its next generation network and services.

The selected applications, Order Management, Service Inventory, Network Inventory, Provisioning & Activation and Discovery and Reconciliation, will provide the foundation to deploy a range of IP-based services starting with Carrier Ethernet Services. After the successful implementation Swisscom Fixnet Wholesale plans to migrate all other All-IP/NGN-Services to NetCracker’s OSS platform.

“Swisscom Fixnet Wholesale is beginning the transformation of its OSS to deliver the next generation of IP-based services,” said Peter Frauenknecht, head of Fixnet Wholesale Information Technology. “We were looking for a strategic partner who can give us a seamless and homogenous architecture based on the most modern IT technology. NetCracker will enable us to implement Lean Production and Modularization and accelerate speed to market.”

NetCracker’s capabilities will help establish a more flexile and cost-efficient inventory and activation platform for IP services and fill the gap between other OSS and CRM systems.

“Swisscom is initiating some of the most innovative concepts in IT/OSS such as RAD and just-in-time-inventory,” said Andrew Feinberg, president and CEO, NetCracker Technology. “We are excited to be a part of this innovation and look forward to working together to deliver NGN services to Swisscom’s customers.”
