DALLAS -- NetCracker Technology, the global solution leader enabling service providers to deliver and manage converged services, today announced a multimillion dollar historic deal with one of the world's leading telecommunications operators, which serves more than 125 million subscribers on five continents and had consolidated sales of almost 50 billion euros in 2004. NetCracker will become the inventory and services management platform for all of the operator's holding companies globally. The project started with NetCracker establishing a competency center at the holding company and beginning implementations at several subsidiaries.
With this roll-out, NetCracker will provide the platform for all of the operator's convergent services, under a consolidation program that is underway. The operator has undertaken the aggressive program to unite its companies under one platform and deliver convergent services to all customers by 2008.
Increasingly, service providers are shifting their focus to top-line growth and converged services. This operator plans to generate a meaningful percentage of group revenues from convergent offerings by 2008. The challenge for service providers is to initiate, deploy and manage these services. NetCracker provides the comprehensive platform that allows this level of service deployment and management.
This deal is the result of an extremely detailed due-diligence process performed by the holding company on behalf of its subsidiaries. The process consisted of various divisions and operating companies within the carrier validating the candidates' ability to support the operator's unique requirements. At the end of the review, NetCracker was chosen unanimously.
"At NetCracker, we look to be more than a solution and services provider. Our goal is to become a strategic business partner to our customers," said Andrew Feinberg, president and CEO of NetCracker. "We are excited to help this global carrier drive this next phase of the organization's evolution. By partnering with NetCracker, this operator ensures that it will remain a global leader."
