LEATHERHEAD, UK -- AIRCOM International, the leading independent network planning and optimisation solutions provider, has announced that Nepalese mobile network operator NCell, part of TeliaSonera Group, has selected its OPTIMA tool for network performance management.

NCell's implementation of OPTIMA is part of its strategic focus on increasing the quality of the network and service to cope with accelerated subscriber growth. OPTIMA will allow NCell to offer its customers the highest quality of service, especially in areas of rapidly increasing subscriber density, helping to reduce churn and support the roll-out of new services.

NCell will use OPTIMA to bring together different parts of its operational processes for performance analysis for the first time. This includes business support, radio and core transmission, packet communication, and value-add services, network systems and technologies including 2G, 3G, HSDPA, and LTE.

NCell will use OPTIMA alongside other installed AIRCOM tools, ASSET, CONNECT, and RANOPT. The rollout of OPTIMA will be completed in two phases, and AIRCOM will provide support and training throughout this process.

"We've experienced strong subscriber growth across Nepal." said Aigars Benders, CTO, NCell. "This presents us with some challenges. We expect this growth to continue for at least two years, so we need to put in place the systems that will ensure quality of service for all of our customers. Our ongoing relationship with AIRCOM means we optimise the performance of our existing infrastructure, and plan effectively for the future."

"After a rigorous pitch process, we're excited to have been selected by NCell once again," said Darryl Edwards, CEO, AIRCOM International, "NCell's current rate of growth means that optimisation and performance management is not an optional extra, but a critical element in delivering quality of service and network profitability - as it is for the whole industry."
