Brazilian mobile operator Claro chooses Intec Convergent Mediation
January 5, 2007
ATLANTA and LONDON -- Intec has announced that Claro, the third largest mobile operator in Brazil, has selected Intec to replace its existing mediation systems for both its traditional and next-generation networks, including GSM, GPRS and TDMA. Intec’s convergent mediation solution will solely process all call detail records (CDRs) for Claro’s 21 million plus customer base. Benchmarked to process more than 12.8 billion event detail records per day and currently processing more than 1.3 billion records per day for its largest customer, Intec Mediation will easily scale to meet Claro’s needs as it continues to grow its customer base.
“In order to remain competitive in Brazil’s technologically advanced mobile market, Claro needed a mediation system that would allow them to launch new, innovative services quickly, enabling them to provide the best services for their customers in the least amount of time,” said Per Martell, Intec’s CALA Regional Director. “Intec’s convergent mediation solution has a Rapid Development Environment that was a key factor in the selection process as it will provide Claro with the fast time to market needed to stay ahead in a rapidly growing environment. The low cost of ownership was also a deciding factor as Intec was able to offer more stability and functionality with nearly half of the hardware required by some of our competitors. Now Claro can spend more time and energy in developing new services for its customers and quickly take those services to market.”
