InfoVista and Wipro expand partnership to support growing carrier Ethernet market

PARIS and HERNDON, Va. -- InfoVista (Euronext IFV - FR0004031649), the leading service-centric performance management software vendor, announced today that it has expanded its partnership with Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of Wipro Limited (NYSE:WIT), to include support for Carrier Ethernet implementations for its customers. This partnership allows both companies to leverage each others’ strength and success in offering high-quality, service-centric reporting, fully integrated into the OSS and BSS (Operations and Billing Support Systems) environments of carriers worldwide. Wipro and InfoVista will develop collaborative solutions targeted at service providers.
The market for Carrier Ethernet is growing exponentially, forecast to reach $3 billion in 2009 by Heavy Reading, and service providers are fully engaged in incorporating this technology to deliver a robust alternative to traditional methods of data communications. In addition, service providers also want to offer advanced management and OSS solutions to improve service accuracy and speed of rollout. Carrier Ethernet not only provides the scalability and flexibility needed for business-class services, it is also emerging as the main transport medium for residential services like triple play, which are in high demand.
