PARIS and HERNDON, Va. -- InfoVista (Euronext IFV- FR0004031649), the leader in delivering proven solutions for proactive service assurance and member of the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), has strengthened its multi-vendor offerings for Ethernet Mobile Backhaul with the release of the next version of its pre-integrated, off-the-shelf adaptor with the industry leading Alcatel-Lucent 5620 Service Aware Manager. With this release InfoVista extensively supports deployments of the Alcatel-Lucent 7705 Service Aggregation Router—a platform well suited to the transport needs of the evolving mobile radio access network (RAN).
Infonetics Research, an international data networking and telecom market research firm, estimates that the IP/Ethernet mobile backhaul equipment market will more than double from $4.6 billion in 2008 to almost $11 billion in 2013. This is fueled primarily by unprecedented growth in demand for mobile data services and quality sensitive applications.
“Mobile operators and backhaul wholesalers are all facing similar challenges,” quotes Vikas Trehan, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at InfoVista, “the unavoidable transition from a stable and legacy technology to a next generation IP/Ethernet infrastructure will demand a much deeper comprehension of new services such as pseudowires and the new complexities introduced by MPLS. Failure to adequately monitor and accordingly plan these new services will impact and end users experience of their mobile data service.”
