BEIJING -- HP and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (“Huawei”) announced today the signing of a global partnership agreement to jointly help the world’s telecom carriers manage their networks more efficiently and continue to provide the best possible quality of service to their end users.

Telecom carriers around the world are adapting to historic changes. Huawei and HP, through their partnership, intend to help them expedite the build-out of next generation networks, reduce their capital and operating expenditures (CAPEX and OPEX), and improve the quality of service to their end customers. Being a leader in providing customized products and solutions for telecommunications operators around the world, Huawei has extensive experiences in the operation and management of telecom networks.

HP, a leading provider of OSS (operations support systems) and IT (information technology) integration services, will provide a complete OSS software system and consulting service. Under the global partnership agreement, Huawei will integrate HP OpenView OSS products and leverage HP consulting and integration services to ensure delivery and installation for customers. With HP OpenView OSS products, Huawei and HP will work together to extend and improve their OSS offerings to provide value-added to customers.

Also, the companies will tap their respective global partner communities to help ensure that the right partners and the right applications are included to optimize the solutions for customers.

The HP products included in this agreement are: HP OpenView TeMIP for fault management, HP OpenView Performance Insight for performance management, HP OpenView Service Activator for activation of networks and services, HP Network Node Manager for IP (Internet Protocol) management, and HP OpenView Service Quality Manager for service level and service quality monitoring.

Huawei will handle all services for transmission, mobile, broadband, data communication, and provide business network equipment and network management platforms (Huawei T2000, M2000, N2000 and I2000 products) to realize a full stream of end-to-end network management solutions capable of network management, business management and operation.

Under the agreement, HP and Huawei will establish an OSS lab in Shenzhen of southern China. The lab will focus on joint research and development, testing and validation, and pre-integration of OSS solutions. The lab will utilize hardware, software and equipment from both companies to provide the best product combination. Prior to establishing the joint lab, Huawei’s T2000 and N2000 were integrated with HP OpenView TeMIP, and the combined solution was successfully put into commercial application by VIVO Brazil。
