Ipanema Technologies announced that Henkel is using its Application Traffic Management System to control Henkel's WAN in the EMEA Region

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Ipanema Technologies, the leader inapplication traffic management systems for wide-area networks (WANs), todayannounced that Henkel, the internationally recognized consumer productsgoods manufacturer, is using its Application Traffic Management System tocontrol Henkel's WAN in the EMEA Region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

The company recently migrated from Frame Relay WAN to MPLS-WAN and waslooking for a bandwidth optimization solution to support its criticalapplications such as SAP, Lotus Notes and Voice over IP. After analyzingvarious solutions, Henkel chose Ipanema's Application Traffic ManagementSystem to optimize the new network and guarantee data compression andtransparency into the network.

In addition to protecting individual user sessions, Henkel now has adetailed view of data traffic, precise bandwidth planning and bettermanagement of Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Henkel can also fine-tune theIpanema solution to optimally adjust for application prioritization andreporting. The solution is operated by T-Systems, general contractor andservice provider for information and communications technology (ICT).Henkel is very pleased with the new optimization solution. According toSteffen Gelessus, system engineer, Henkel "the use of the Ipanema system isa genuine quantum leap for us. With its finely calibrated monitoring andreporting functions, we obtain a more detailed overview of network trafficand can thus plan our capacities precisely and optimize the network."
