AUCKLAND -- EMS-Cortex announces improved service for Service Providers deliveringapplications via Citrix
Enhanced Citrix support in Cortex
EMS-Cortex has announced further support for managing Citrix delivered applications. Cortexnow integrates directly with Citrix Presentation Server to manage any published application withminimal effort. Citrix combined with Cortex enables service providers to easily manage delivery ofapplications to end-customers.
The advanced integration with Citrix Presentation Server incorporates real time retrieval of Citrixpublished applications and a flexible security model which can utilise existing or Cortex generatedsecurity groups.
New service provider features include an ability to manage applications across multiple Citrixfarms. The new application group feature allows application bundles to be created and assignedto customers or resellers. Applications can be defaulted for selection on an organisation or userlevel. Advanced resource management controls access to other Citrix resources such as printersand scanners.
Improved delegated administration support now allows for easy provisioning of applications orapplication bundles to users or groups of users. Reseller and customer administrators will benefitfrom additional flexibility for creating custom user groups and ability to set and override defaultsettings.Dedicated applications can be flagged as private and are then hidden from all other customers.
“The flexibility of the solution caters for unique customer situations; for example, a serviceprovider can host a number of customers who utilise a common Microsoft office package as wellas customers with their own unique applications, such as a dedicated ERP system. Cortex allowsthis type of business to really scale by reducing support costs and allowing technical staff to focuson real issues rather than everyday user configuration.”, says Colin Williams, Cortex developmentmanager.
