MONTREAL -- Electroline is showing for the first time the VANGUARD DMS and Digital Video and Network Monitor (DVM) downstream monitoring probe. Vanguard DMS is the Management system that keeps track of all the deployed DVMs Installed at strategic locations in the HFC network. It is continuously scanning key performance indicators, essentially giving the operator an overall health check of the RF Network and MPEG services.

The DVM is a hardened monitoring probe that continuously scans the HFC bandwidth for anomalies that are effecting or could potentially affect the high speed data, VoIP and video services delivered to the customer. VANGUARD DMS aggregates data for all DVMs deployed throughout the network. Alarms for discovered anomalies are sent to VANGUARD by the DVM for filtering and notice to staff assigned to take action to resolve problem in a most expeditious manner. Using VANGUARD and the DVM, cable operators will reduce the MTTR, save operating expense and improve the overall quality of service delivered to the subscriber.
