Belgacom introduces 'Smart Networking' into its Explore service platform
February 7, 2012
BRUSSELS -- In March 2012, Belgacom will introduce “Smart Networking” into its Explore service platform. In this way, Belgacom can respond to the growing demand by companies to be able to continuously monitor the quality of their enterprise applications, and to manage these applications themselves. With Smart Networking, companies can give priority to business-critical applications over other data on their network, thereby increasing the efficiency of their business activities. Belgacom's deployment of this “Smart Networking” solution in the entire Explore network is a European first. Moreover, Belgacom has integrated its cloud platform "BeCloud" into Explore, so that companies can manage both applications on their own servers and applications in the cloud.
The Belgacom Explore platform ensures the network connection between the different departments and buildings of companies. It is also a connectivity platform that gives companies access to services and applications within Belgium and abroad. In March 2012, Belgacom will start introducing the concept of Smart Networking into its Explore platform. This network-based solution is the first of its kind in Europe, and will be rolled out in Belgium for all of Belgacom's business customers.
In this way, Belgacom can respond to the growing demand by companies to be able to continuously monitor the quality of their enterprise applications, and to manage these applications themselves. Given the growing number of applications, the increasing use of video and audio applications, and the trend to allow employees to bring their own mobile devices (such as smartphones and tablets) to the workplace, companies want to have a precise idea of all the applications that are used in the company, and to give the business-critical applications priority over less important ones.
