ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced that Guizhou Telecom, a subsidiary of China Telecom, has selected Amdocs to help integrate its enterprise data for improved system management and efficiencies across the company, which will help the provider better serve its customers. This is the first China Telecom subsidiary to implement an enterprise-wide operational data storage (ODS) project.

Within Guizhou Telecom there are nine subsidiaries that provide integrated telecommunications services, including voice, data, video and multimedia communications across various counties, prefectures and cities in the Guizhou province of China. With Amdocs' help, the company is building and implementing an enterprise data integration architecture and system that will integrate disparate data among the business support systems of its subsidiaries. The increased integration and collaboration between its multiple systems will enable Guizhou Telecom to better execute end-to-end operational processes and increase system functionality.

"Different management systems, their data models and the interfaces between them affect the timeliness with which our organization can respond to market and business changes," said Zheng Chengyu, vice general manager of Guizhou Telecom. "Centralized data and process integration management capabilities are the keys to reducing system complexity and IT costs. We chose to work with Amdocs because of its technical expertise, experience and innovation in business and operations support systems – BSS and OSS. With the new enterprise data integration architecture and ODS, we can improve the management quality of data between systems, which is vital in helping us deliver superior service to our customers."

The enterprise data architecture provides a data hub that standardizes and consolidates customer and product information. This includes information from sales, marketing, billing, ordering, service assurance and call centers. It can also provide information services to an enterprise-wide data warehouse for reporting and operational management. The new information management system will create a unified view of the data and it will also significantly improve data quality and application management, as well as reduce data integration complexities. The goal of improved system management is also to lower operating costs for the company.

"As service providers throughout the world expand their service offerings and grow their customer base, they must ensure that their system management evolves as well," said Michael Matthews, chief marketing officer of Amdocs. By choosing to develop an enterprise data integration architecture and system with Amdocs, Guizhou Telecom will also improve its service delivery with a faster time to market for new services, and its customers will benefit from a differentiated and improved customer experience."
