Orange Pushes 'Nowt'
Already months behind an initial launch date of the second quarter this year amid media reports of falling subscriber targets, the company has dropped yet another clanger in its announcement detailing U.K. availability of the “Talk Now(TM)” service (see Orange Misses PTT Push).
Red-faced executives at the carrier’s public relations firm have been forced to issue a correction after a rather embarrassing typo urged journalists to hail the launch of... “Talk Nowt." Fans of the loveable U.K. horse doctor, James Herriot, will know that "nowt" is bluff Yorkshire speak meaning nothing, nada, zilch.
So the initial release was literally calling this new service "say nothing."
“The extra T appeared due to the trademark TM sign not being able to appear in its true form when using applications such as Lotus notes,” ran the PR note.
Unstrung is unable to confirm rumors of a sudden vacancy at Orange's marketing team.
