CHICAGO and STOCKHOLM -- Transmode, a leading provider of optical networking solutions, today announced the launch of its next generation 10G Multi-Service Muxponder targeted for Mobile Backhaul and other Next Generation Network (NGN) migration applications.

The new 10G Multi-Service Muxponder (MS-MXP/10G) is ideally suited to both mobile backhaul applications and NGN migration projects within fixed networks where both legacy TDM traffic is required in parallel with Ethernet traffic. The MS-MXP/10G allows operators to economically and flexibly transport multiple services on the same 10G wavelength. All services are transported totally transparently, including network synchronization, which simplifies the network structure and OAM procedures.

The MS-MXP/10G extends Transmode's existing and widely deployed Intelligent WDM (iWDM(TM)) Multi-Service technology to 10 Gbit/s of capacity and is part of Transmode's successful TM-Series. The Multi-Service technology is used in Transmode's recently announced Multi-Service Mobile Backhaul Solution for E1/T1 and Ethernet traffic and the existing 4G Multi-Service Muxponder for SDH/SONET, Ethernet and Fibre Channel traffic.
