ARLINGTON, Va. -- December 7, 2005 -- The Telecommunications Industry Association (www.tiaonline.org) announced today it will team with CMP Media (www.cmp.com) to offer educational programs targeted to the enterprise network community at GLOBALCOMM™ 2006. The next-generation communications marketplace and summit takes place June 4-8, 2006. GLOBALCOMM replaces SUPERCOMM® as TIA's annual industry event.

"CMP Media brings a unique, content-centric approach to the enterprise conference at GLOBALCOMM. Its participation reflects GLOBALCOMM's intersection of service providers and their enterprise customers. We are very pleased to work with CMP Media on what is certain to be original, compelling, and valuable programming at our debut event," states TIA President Matthew J. Flanigan.

CMP will produce the GLOBALCOMM 2006 Data Comm Enterprise Conference, a two-day conference that will focus on the changing landscape of corporate data management. Three tracks -- Infrastructure, Software, and Security -- will highlight the most pressing issues facing enterprise networks. Executives from leading enterprises will discuss new computing platforms, storage networks, service-oriented architectures, and new techniques for internal network security. Editors from the CMP publications InformationWeek, Network Computing, Byte and Switch, and Unstrung will moderate conference sessions.

"As the leading global publisher of news and analysis for enterprise decision makers, CMP is delighted to be working together with TIA to provide a top-flight enterprise conference at GLOBALCOMM 2006," says Steve Weitzner, President and Chief Executive Officer of CMP Media. "We will use the full power of our editorial, brand and readership to ensure that the GLOBALCOMM 2006 Data Comm Enterprise Conference will be a terrific success."

GLOBALCOMM 2006 will also feature 450 exhibiting companies, free keynote addresses and panels, paid service provider conferences by the International Engineering Consortium, and co-location with OSP EXPO, the Outside Plant Exposition and Conference. Additional programming highlights include the GLOBALCOMM Summit Series, focusing on the Americas, EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) and Asia/Pacific regions, and the Innovations Summit, showcasing presentations by new and emerging technology companies. In addition, TIA, organizer of the Supplier Diversity summits formerly held at SUPERCOMM, will produce a new TIA Supplier Diversity Summit at GLOBALCOMM. More than 85 percent of the 200,000 net-square-foot GLOBALCOMM 2006 exhibition has been sold, showcasing global ICT solutions.
