Appoints K.Y. Chan as the new General Manager of NeoPhotonics China in Shenzhen

SAN DIEGO -- NeoPhotonics today announced here at the OFC/NFOEC optical networking conference and exhibition the appointment of Mr. K.Y. Chan as the new General Manager of NeoPhotonics China in Shenzhen, home to 2000 employees and the bulk of the company’s manufacturing infrastructure and a significant portion of its development engineering resources.

Mr. Chan comes to NeoPhotonics from EcoTech International Group, a company he co-founded to provide clean technology and operations consulting to property managers in China and the U.S. Previously, he held management positions with several global companies including Advanced Micro Devices, where he was the vice president of Supply Chain Management; Picsel Technologies Ltd., an embedded software company as the Greater China region managing director; Hewlett-Packard, where he established and served as general manager of the China Solutions Software Center; and Motorola, where, over a 15 year period, he held several positions including Vice President and General Manager, Asia, Broadband Communications Sector.
