BERLIN -- Lumics a manufacturer of pump laser modules and laserchips introduces the uncooled LU0915T065 fiber coupled laser module with upto 6.5W output power at 915nm pump wavelength. The product is using Lumics'new chip generation with more than 60% electrical-to-optical powerconversion efficiency.

Lumics introduces this new chip generation laser diode device in an uncooledTO220 package coupled with a 105/125µm multi mode fiber. The footprint ofthe laser diode is specified with only 22 x 11 mm including a 2.7mm screwhole for mounting purpose to a heat sink.

The new package design is used as a platform for the a series of high powersingle emitter laser diodes at 808nm; 915nm and 975nm pump wavelength withan excellent cost / performance ratio. The modules can be air cooled withstandard heat sink components for the popular TO220 footprint. Lifetime isspecified with 40.000h MTTF.

The target applications include Ytterbium fiber lasers and fiber amplifiers.The new generation of high power modules allows a cost effective lasersystem design with an enhanced performance.
