PARIS -- Kylia especially designed a package dedicated to OEM deployment for its dual polarization optical hybrid. The new package results from a new optical design, more compact and more performing. The new package shows two significant upgrades. First of all, Kylia made the fiber management much easier by gathering inputs and outputs on the same side. Re-designing has been a matter of compensating perpendicular optical paths and reducing the whole size. Indeed, the foot print has been reduced down to 52 x 70 mm allowing an easy integration into a card.

The optical hybrid enables to extract phase and amplitude from a single polarization signal, by performing four 90° phase stepped interferences between the signal and a local oscillator on both polarization. The optical hybrid is dedicated to be plugged to balanced photodiodes. Kylia is now working on integrating Photodiodes into a whole package. Global cost, fiber management and reduced foot print are the main targets of its new project
