EDINBURGH, U.K. -- Today Gemfire announced the release of several new products that will
augment the already extensive list of PLC based products available from
the integrated photonics vendor. The announcement is timed to coincide
with OFC/NFOEC conference taking place in LA this week
The new products are:
96 channel athermal AWG. This extends the existing Gemfire athermal AWG
product range that covers 40, 44, and 48 channel parts on 100Ghz spacing,
and 80 and 88 channel parts on 50Ghz spacing. The new product allows an
operator to deploy a high channel count system from day one in one very
compact, low cost, zero power consumption package.
2-in-1 athermal AWG. This is a very versatile product that allows the
deployment of either Mux and Demux; or on-grid/off-grid Mux/Demux
combinations in the same size package as one 40, 44 or 48ch Mux or Demux
today. Hence it is very useful where space is at a premium, and is also
lower cost than using two discrete packages
After Rick "the smart and proud" Tompane is gone, are they any better?
We'd love to "steal" a few good people in Scotland to be frank, where they have some strong Kymata crew.
Anyone has any scoop?
