Emcore announces the live demonstration and subsequent release to sampling of its 1550nm DWDM long reach XFP optical transceiver module

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- EMCORECorporation (Nasdaq: EMKR), a leading provider of compoundsemiconductor-based components and subsystems for the broadband, fiberoptic, satellite, and solar power markets, today announced the livedemonstration and subsequent release to sampling of its 1550nm DWDM longreach XFP optical transceiver module. The new EDW-9100-XFP will bedemonstrated to selected customers for the 2007 Optical Fiber Conference(OFC) in Anaheim, CA.

This product marks the expansion of EMCORE's market leading portfolioof parallel VCSEL and LX4 optical modules for the 300m multimode marketinto the long reach 10 Gbps application space. This XFP is ideally suitedfor diverse applications including SDH STM-64, SONET OC-192 LR-2, and 10Gigabit Ethernet (10GBASE-ZR).
