SUGAR LAND, Texas -- Applied Optoelectronics, Inc., a leading manufacturer of laser diodes, photodetectors, and optical modules for fiber optic communication systems, is pleased to announce the availability of transmitter optical sub-assemblies (TOSAs) for high-speed transmitters for digital and coarse wave division multiplexing (CWDM) applications.

Key features of the laser include:

  • High output power

  • Hermetically-sealed laser

  • Uncooled laser up to 4.0 Gbps

  • Low-noise light source

  • 5.6-mm TO-style package (3.8-mm available soon)

  • Package styles: SC and LC

  • Laser types: Distributed Feedback (DFB) and Fabry-Perot (FP)

  • Optional extended temperature range from -40ºC to +85ºC

Samples are available now. Volume shipments will begin in March 2006 with a capacity of a 4000 pieces per month.
