BANGALORE, India -- Tejas Networks announced today that its TJ100 family of packet-aware optical networking products have been certified by Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF). Tejas products have been certified to be compliant to the specification of MEF-14 (Traffic Management certification) and MEF-9 (Carrier Ethernet Services Tests) by Iometrix testing labs.

Tejas’ family of TJ100 products passed all of the test scenarios in the very first round of testing. This certification reasserts the quality and proven Ethernet technology in Tejas’ TJ100 products, tens of thousands of which are widely deployed in all major telecom networks in India and across several networks globally.

The MEF–14 Test Suite for Traffic Management ensures conformance to the MEF Quality of Service (QoS) attributes, which provides a foundation for the implementation of Service Provider operational and performance Service Level Agreements (SLA) supporting simultaneous real-time and data-intensive business applications. MEF-9 includes specific tests to validate the services and attributes of EPL, EVPL, or E-LAN services. These provide point-to-point (EPL or EVPL) or multipoint (E-LAN) Metro Ethernet services.

"We are happy to receive the certifications from MEF, which reinforces our strategy to invest in the development of Packet-aware optical products that enable our customers to leverage their existing investments to offer premium revenue-generating Ethernet services” said Sanjay Nayak, Chief Executive Officer, Tejas Networks.
