The former COO of Alcatel USA and CEO of Tellabs gets a new gig with an old employer

DALLAS -- AT&T Inc.* (NYSE: T) today announced the appointment of Krish Prabhu as president and CEO of AT&T Labs. Prabhu replaces retiring president and CEO Keith Cambron, who has led AT&T Labs since 2005.

Prabhu, who will be based in Dallas, brings valuable experience in research, corporate leadership and innovation, and venture funding to AT&T. His telecoms industry career began in 1980 at the former AT&T Bell Laboratories. He has served in several telecoms executive positions, including as chief executive officer of Alcatel USA and Tellabs. He also has worked with the start-up and developer communities as a venture capitalist.
