Fresh Blood at AlcaLu

12:40 PM -- Is there no end to Ben Verwaayen's hiring spree? The Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) CEO shook up his top-table management team a month ago, and has since made some more significant changes. (See AlcaLu Unveils New Leadership Team, AlcaLu's CFO Signs Off, and More Changes at AlcaLu.)

Now, he has appointed a new president for the Asia/Pacific region, a senior VP for strategy and corporate development, and a senior VP of public affairs.

The new man responsible for Asia/Pacific is Sean Dolan, AlcaLu's Shanghai-based COO for the region. He takes over from Etienne Fouques, who has decided to retire.

Until recently Fouques, an Alcatel veteran of 30 years, was head of Europe, Asia, and Africa, so he lost a lot of ground in a short space of time.

The new head of strategy and corporate development is Rajeev Singh-Molares, who joins AlcaLu in January. His most recent role was as a senior partner of professional services firm Monitor Group.

For a fleeting moment EuroBlog did get rather excited about Singh-Molares's background, because we though his resumé said he was once in the Chemical Brothers, but it turns out he used to work in the international division of Chemical Bank.

Close, though.

The current head of strategy, Helle Kristoffersen, has been handed a new role with, potentially, the vendor's longest job title: Head of Global Account and Verticals Solution Marketing, Enterprise, and Verticals.

Light Reading couldn't confirm that AlcaLu's stationery department is having to order super-sized business cards to accomodate Kristoffersen's new title.

At least Kristoffersen is used to dealing with long entries in her personal details file: She's a graduate of the Parisian educational establishment known as Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique.

In London we'd call it "Business School," but that's us laconic Brits for ya!

Last but not least, Gabrielle Gauthey is also joining in January to be head of public affairs (affaires publique). This is a smart move by Ben V (a.k.a. Ben the Fifth), because Gauthey is currently a "college member" (effectively, an executive board member) at the French telecom regulator Arcep , so she'll be able to provide insight into the impact of regulation on the telecom market.

re: Fresh Blood at AlcaLu "Head of Global Account and Verticals Solution Marketing, Enterprise, and Verticals."

LMAO! Makes for a helluva self-introduction:

"Hi, I'm Mr. Fouques, Head of Global Account and Verticals Solution Marketing, Enterprise, and Verticals.

But you can just call me Foukin' Vertical."

re: Fresh Blood at AlcaLu Seriously, was that a typo? A prank? "Head of Global Account and Verticals Solution Marketing, Enterprise, and Verticals." Reminds me of the old trope that the British invented bureaucracy, the French refined it, and the Swiss perfected it.
