1:05 PM -- It's no surprise that Nortel Networks Ltd. has higher-capacity optical capabilities -- after all, the company was chosen as supplier for a 40-Gbit/s pan-European network upgrade by Verizon Enterprise Solutions last year. (See Nortel Takes 40-Gig to Verizon and Nortel Wins Verizon Deal.)

Nevertheless, even though the company has yet to formally announce a 40-Gig product, you may have noticed that it is advertising one -- with a giant dogear ad in the upper right-hand corner of Light Reading. The ad takes you to this page, which touts Nortel's not-so-secret 40-Gig story. More details to follow.
