Kylia Intros DWDM Mux

PARIS -- Kylia offers a wide range of DWDM Mux/Demux to meet the thirst of bit rate increase in metro networks. Kylia provides any of solution for the Band-width x channel-count products. Band-width range expands from 6 Ghz to 100 Ghz when channel-count can reach 48 channels. Since bit rate is directly linked to Band-width, solutions for reaching the desired bit rate are numerous: 20 x 2.5 Gbit/s; 16 x 10 Gbit/s..... Any of these solutions are athermal and are today implemented on the field.

This approach opens new technical outlooks for metro networks where flexibility is as important as bit rate. Free Space technology presents all the flexibility features to meet this “Ultra DWDM” approach. In addition, in order to keep some transmission carriers form drifting, Kylia delivered recently a DWDM Mux/Demux with frequency tunability features. “We have several options to get rid of some laser drifts. We can either make our mics response flat top or we can even widen our natural Gaussian shape. In this particular case, we implemented motors to allow the customer to shift in frequency its nominal DWDM comb of 8 times its nominal spacing (8 x 12.5 GHz). The module was a PM module with a PER better than 19 dB” says Ludovic Fulop, Kylia Production Manager.
