STOCKHOLM -- Transmode, a leading provider of Multi-Reach Optical Networking Solutions, today announced that Dauphin Telecom has selected Transmode and local partner CB Networks for a submarine link between the islands of St Martin and Puerto-Rico.

The Raman amplified TM-Series link covers 365 kilometers in a single span, utilizing low cost Regional WDM terrestrial technology. Previously this link would only have been possible with significantly higher cost Ultra Long Haul or Submarine WDM systems. The system has been successfully deployed and is currently in live service. Further phases of the Dauphin Telecom network expansion are currently being planned with the Transmode TM-Series.

Dauphin Telecom is based in St Martin in the French West Indies. The company provides a wide range of residential and business services including Mobile and Broadband services across the region.

"The Transmode TM-Series is the perfect solution for our needs here in the Caribbean," said Alain Haillant, Dauphin Telecom's President and CEO. "Our link to Puerto-Rico is an important part of our network expansion strategy and selecting the right product for this and other links is extremely important. We therefore strongly evaluated a number of solutions before selecting Transmode and CB Networks."

"We are extremely pleased to be in a position to announce Dauphin Telecom as a new Transmode customer today," said Björn Andersson, Transmode's Vice President of Sales. "This unusual project shows the true versatility of the TM-Series platform and the strong capabilities of the engineers from both Transmode and CB Networks."
