China Mobile Awards 100G Deals

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. and FiberHome Technologies Group are reported to be the biggest winners of China Mobile Ltd.'s giant optical transport networks tender.
Huawei is believed to have won the 100Gbit/s national backbone contract, the first in China and reportedly the world's largest, according to the Sohu website. Fiberhome, meanwhile, landed a deal to provide 10Gbit/s gear for the national backbone.
Huawei and Alcatel Shanghai Bell Co. Ltd. (ASB) won provincial-level 100 Gbit/s equipment contracts, while ASB, Fiberhome and ZTE Corp. clinched provincial 10 Gbit/s deals. (See ZTE Crunches 100G Costs.)
