CES Photos: Huawei Exposé

LAS VEGAS -- 2009 International CES -- Oh, Huawei. You really stepped in it this time. Our intrepid reporter tries to take a tiny pic of a product on public display at a consumer tradeshow, and you run him off?

We probably would have, too. But still, the nerve...

So, with tongue firmly in cheek, we followed up by sending our photographer to the booth to see how long he could go before getting thrown out:

Honey, I'm Making a U-life Spoiler: He was allowed to roam freely and get his pictures. Dammit.

Photos by Dan Diaz/Filmsight. The captions are not his fault.

re: CES Photos: Huawei Exposé The Indian scandal, at least at the moment is not even 1/100th the scale of the US Financial and Corporate governance scandal. Does that mean US is gone or will go? Of course not.

re: CES Photos: Huawei Exposé Actually the India scandal is less than 1% the size of the problem on wall street. Probably less than 1/10th of 1%, but I have not taken the time to do the calculation.

re: CES Photos: Huawei Exposé Pretty much a waste of bits and time, pictures with no information. What are they making? Where are they heading? How are they doing? You know, some reporting. Almost anything would be nice.

I think that they are a big enough company to have some information to give reporters even if you just reprint it for them. Just grab a brochure and type up something. Mission statement? Profits? Huge sales for 2009? Competitors crushed? Any new jobs in NA? Can't buy Nortel?

re: CES Photos: Huawei Exposé Yes, this was a waste of time, etc., as described. Shame on us for making fun of ourselves (and them).

We'll resume with more productive and ponderous fear-mongering about Huawei very soon.

Cheers,

re: CES Photos: Huawei Exposé Dont know if it is the way govts should have acted in Nortel's case...

But the indian govt has appointed 3 eminent people to the satyam board to revamp it.

re: CES Photos: Huawei Exposé Phil,

I don't know if its fear-mongering. Simple calling out the lack of response to Huawei's undeniable growth.

As someone lives and play in the US/EMEA we have created a large void on credible large companies to compete against them right now.
