Zayo Group Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO), the US-based wholesale services and dark fiber specialist, has completed an infrastructure upgrade that will allow it to provide 100G services over its long-haul European network. The network extends from London to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Paris, and Paris to London. Zayo bolstered its European assets in May by acquiring Geo Networks, and it is due to close its acquisition of Neo Telecoms in the third quarter of 2014. (See Zayo Buys UK Fiber Network Operator.)
The latest move in the ongoing battle between intellectual property firm Vringo and China's ZTE sees Vringo filing a lawsuit against ZTE Corp. (Shenzhen: 000063; Hong Kong: 0763) in Romania. The suit relates to the technology that initiates the handover between different mobile networks. Earlier this month ZTE filed a complaint with the European Commission over Vringo's patent licensing practices, alleging that they are impeding fair competition. UK mobile joint venture EE has formed a partnership with mobile security specialist Lookout, pre-loading EE Android smartphones and tablets with the Lookout Mobile Security app, which offers protection from viruses and automated content backup, among other features.
UK regulator Ofcom has published its latest quarterly survey of the number of complaints operators and ISPs are fielding. No major shocks here for anyone based in the UK, but here's a snapshot of who's upsetting folk the most in the mobile and landline sectors…

Anybody from UK on the boards who'd like to share. Thanks for sharing the complaint stats. Over two years (2012 - 2014), the 3 network has really brought down the complaints reducing these to less than half.
Also I am actually surprised to see that the landline complaints per 1,000 customers are more in landline than in mobile. 0.16 compared to 0.06 complains per 1,000 customers. Anybody from UK on the boards who'd like to share.
