Motorola unveils new optical transport solutions at ANGA Cable 2002

READING, U.K. and HORSHAM, Pa. -- Motorola, Inc. Broadband Communications Sector announced today it is introducing its new optical transport solutions for the European market at ANGA Cable 2002 [April 23-25, Koln Messe Koln, Germany, Hall 13.1, Booth B4]. Motorola will be showcasing its complete, end-to-end optical transport solutions, including those products now available from the January 2002 acquisition of San Jose, California-based Synchronous, Inc. The innovative Synchronous product lines expand Motorola's Transmission Network Systems [TNS] offering to include best-in-class optical networking technology that focuses on data-intensive services and interactive broadband. "Motorola's new optical transport solutions offer European operators a variety of solutions from which to choose, based on specific technology needs and budget," said Charles Dougherty, vice president and general manager of Motorola's transmission network systems business. " We are pleased to be bringing these innovative solutions to Europe with the support and backing customers require. These new solutions will help broadband network operators significantly increase the efficiency, quality, and therefore distance of signals sent over fibre optic cable - enabling them to provide advanced services and the 'triple-play' services of video, voice, and data."
