DIETZENBACH, Germany -- LastMile AG, a leading German supplier of Optical Networking Solutions, releases its full integrated CWDM & DWDM Hybrid System. Since its announcement this integrated technology has excited LastMile´s customers because of the ability to avoid the dilemma of deciding for costly DWDM systems and capacity limited CWDM systems.

Especially network planners are constrained to predict the future in regards of bandwidth demand. Watching the current situation of enlighted fibers, most of these forecasts have been wrong. Choosing the wrong technology can result in financial losses, additional time-to-market problems and waste of investment when higher capacity is required in the future.

With LastMile´s integrated CWDM and DWDM system within its well known FiberPilot platform, users are not obliged to choose for one technology or one platform on day one and some day face a forklift upgrade. Starting with common and cost-effective CWDM systems for up to 16 channels, customers are able to add DWDM components within the same shelf and the same network management without losing a single CWDM component.

“For our customer Ford, it is a crucial factor that the full equipped CWDM system from LastMile can be extended for new services by using the existing components. Thinking in a most cost-effective manner the company requires a modular and flexible system for his long term planning. Ford uses LastMile´s FiberPilot system for its data center connectivity for disaster recovery purposes. Together with our recently announced DWDM SFPs, we will offer the most advanced integration of CWDM and DWDM systems on the market” states Arie Kruit, Business Development Manager of LastMile.
