Ecritel Deploys Ekinops

PARIS -- Ecritel, a leading French Internet service provider, has selected the Ekinops optical transport platform for deployment in its fiber-optic network in the Paris area, Ekinops announced today. Ekinops designs and manufactures optical transport, DWDM, CWDM and aggregation solutions.

Ecritel’s decision was based on the flexible architecture of the Ekinops platform and its ability to handle dynamic increases in capacity. Ecritel is deploying a robust and economical DWDM network for transporting Gigabit Ethernet traffic in a metro optical network. The Ekinops solution includes the PM1008 that uses time division multiplexing (TDM) to aggregate and transport up to eight channels of Gigabit Ethernet or GFC traffic over a single OC-192/STM-64 10 Gbps wavelength.
