SHENZHEN, China -- ZTE, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has opened a new office to expand its presence in Germany. The new office in Darmstadt was specifically chosen by ZTE to support its ongoing partner Deutsche Telekom with building modern network infrastructure in Germany.

ZTE Corporation has been doing business in Europe for ten years and established more than 30 subsidiaries across European markets, including France, Britain, Italy, Spain and Scandinavia. Its German affiliate, ZTE Deutschland GmbH, was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Düsseldorf. Since 2005, ZTE has opened additional offices, including those in Bonn, Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin. With its new office in Darmstadt, ZTE now holds nine offices across Germany making ZTE Deutschland GmbH the largest branch of ZTE Corporation in Europe.

Dr. Peihong Hou, Managing Director of the Bonn and Darmstadt office, and CTO of ZTE Deutschland GmbH, is pleased by the sustainable growth represented by the opening of the Darmstadt premises. “We are fully driven by our customers’ requirements. That is why it is strategically significant that we move to be close to Deutsche Telekom – not only to its headquarters in Bonn, but also to its research facilities for infrastructure which are located in Darmstadt,” commented Dr. Hou.

In 2011, the Darmstadt office will also launch a test laboratory. Coupled with the lab in the Düsseldorf test and innovation center, ZTE will have two test centers in Germany. This move is consistent with the Group’s strategy to establish R&D facilities not only in China but close to its customers worldwide.
