SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Spirent Communications plc (LSE: SPT - News), a global provider of performance analysis and service management solutions, today announced that it’s innovative testing platform, Spirent TestCenter™ has been adopted by more than 330 service providers, enterprises and network equipment manufacturers worldwide. With a new approach to testing, Spirent TestCenter enables customers to experience significant improvements in testing economics and productivity during every stage of the product development and service creation process to accelerate time-to-market while reducing operating and capital expenses.

Since its introduction, the Spirent TestCenter has grossed more than $100 million in revenues following the largest monthly (September 2007) and quarterly sales results for the most recent third quarter 2007. And with more than 140 new customers purchasing Spirent TestCenter in 2007 alone, Spirent is spearheading the next generation testing evolution by changing the way engineers test and validate their systems, applications and services. The recent sales and accelerating adoption rates have made Spirent TestCenter the single most universal test platform serving the integrated layer 2 -7 communications test market.

“As the leading vendor of network security solutions that deliver up to 40Gbps of wirespeed security processing, Crossbeam Systems needed a testing platform that could scale along with our solutions,” said Throop Wilder, the company’s vice president of marketing. “In addition, 100% of our iBeam interoperability certification and performance tests are automated and require unprecedented levels of programmability. Spirent TestCenter met both the performance and flexibility objectives with flying colors. It is an integral part of our business and central to the delivery of high customer value.”

“The complexity of next generation technologies is prompting us to evolve our testing methodologies by employing solutions and strategies that are repeatable, open, and based on real-world environments,” said Jason Needham, director of product management at F5 Networks. “Testing takes time, is expensive, and presents numerous challenges without the right tools. With Spirent TestCenter’s automation and rapid test set-up capabilities, we were able to successfully roll out the industry’s most robust and high-performance Application Delivery Controller (ADC) while meeting market demand in a timely and cost-efficient manner.”
