MILPITAS, Calif. -- JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU) (TSX: JDU) announced today that its drive test solution now offers wireless carriers an LTE network analysis tool accessible through an Android™ smartphone. The application simplifies LTE radio frequency (RF) service verification and troubleshooting while reducing network management costs.

Smartphones that are enabled with JDSU's LTE RF optimization application allow engineers to perform real-life test scenarios as LTE networks are being trialed and established. Engineers can collect, record, playback and transfer data from network trouble spots discovered while in the field to the operations center for further analysis and resolution. The JDSU smartphone application gives wireless carriers a new, simpler and more cost–effective way to gather critical network performance data needed to ensure a quality end-user experience.

"JDSU is innovating with new ways to quickly, easily and cost-effectively extract and analyze network data that is critical to delivering a quality wireless service experience," said Jerry Gentile, senior vice president in JDSU's Communications Test and Measurement business segment. "This application is an example of our ability to design test solutions with enhanced communications capabilities that can read and analyze data sent from a smart device."
