REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. -- Clarus Systems, Inc., the leading provider of automated testing and reporting solutions for IP telephony systems, today announced that Doug Bailey has joined the company’s management team as vice president of worldwide sales. A 16-year veteran of the networking software industry, Bailey is responsible for growing and managing Clarus' international corporate sales force as the company capitalizes on the exploding market for Internet telephony.

Bailey brings 28 years of enterprise sales experience to Clarus and a strong track record of growing early-stage network software companies. Prior to joining Clarus, Bailey held senior sales and general management positions at Lucent, Agile Networks and Cisco Systems. While at Cisco, he helped grow the company's annual revenues from $20 million to approximately $1 billion. Bailey also held executive and sales management positions at networking companies including Xelor, Ipsum Networks and CopperCom.

“Doug's extensive background in the networking business as well as his experience with young, fast-growth companies makes him a natural fit for Clarus," said Clarus CEO Brendan Reidy. "His breadth of experience will add to the strong Clarus leadership team, which includes network industry veterans from companies such as Avaya, Cisco, Micromuse and Qwest Communications International/US WEST."

“I was drawn to Clarus Systems because it offers a solution that addresses the major challenges faced during the entire IP telephony lifecycle, from deployment to ongoing operations," said Bailey. "By testing the functionality of each individual phone on the network, ClarusIPC® software meets actual end-user needs in a way that no other testing solution can, resulting in high system reliability and user confidence. I look forward to communicating the benefits of ClarusIPC software to a broader market as more organizations standardize on IP telephony."
