SAN JOSE, Calif. -- ONI Systems Corp. (Nasdaq:ONIS - news), a leading provider of optical telecommunications systems for metropolitan and regional markets, today unveiled its new Bit-Rate Tunable Wavelength Interface with forward error correction capabilities to support a wide variety of services between 100 Mbps and 2.5 Gbps. Available today for ONI's ONLINE(TM) transport platforms, the single interface allows carriers or the carrier's customers to better manage and provision almost any type of digital traffic (Fibre Channel, Gigabit Ethernet, HDTV, PDH, SONET/SDH)."The new Bit-Rate Tunable Interface is, simply put, a rule-changer for the way carriers will dynamically offer services to their customers," said Marianne Wu, senior director, Product Marketing, ONI Systems.
