SPOKANE, Wash. -- OneEighty Networks, a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) headquartered in Spokane, Wash., today announced the acquisition of HighSpeed Communications, L.L.C., a CLEC based in Walla Walla, Washington. HighSpeed Communications Inc. is owned by a series of companies including BTA Associates, a Colorado LLC; Cellular Pioneer Kyle Mussman; and XO Communications. Under the agreement, OneEighty Networks agreed to assume HighSpeed Communications operations in Washington and Oregon. OneEighty Networks also gained access to its licensed wireless spectrum in Oregon, Hawaii, Nevada, Central California, and Washington. Terms of the agreement were not released.

Acquisition by OneEighty Networks of HighSpeed's broadband Internet, private line, Web hosting and dial-up services was finalized September 30, 2003. The transaction should result in a seamless transition to HighSpeed customers. No significant job losses are planned.

"This latest OneEighty Network's acquisition marks a continuation of our value based growth strategy. One that allows us to leverage existing assets to expand our network and achieve economies of scale that improve service to existing customers and those coming to us in this purchase," OneEighty Networks founder, Chairman and CEO, Gregory Green said.

"Given current market conditions, we will continue to evaluate potential acquisitions with an eye toward value and increased economies of scale," Green said.
